Expanded PTFE for spiral wound gasket filler material is a kind of unique tape, made from 100% expanded virgin PTFE.
EXPANDED PTFE (POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE) with its special properties is one of the best filler to take up the flange compression, and compatible with the working fluid and service conditions. These gaskets are normally used with raised face flanges. And give an excellent seal due to the very long leakage path.
It will not age, harden, shrink or dry out in service, be unaffected by common chemicals.With good sealability and flexibility, it can seal rough or damaged surface. It is used in spiral wound gasket as filler material.
